The Green Sea

The elegant emerald cascaded from the mountaintops
Drenching us, drowning us, leaving us
Paralyzed in jealousy
Lost without empathy
Nothing remains, all has been
Washed away, far away,
May it come back another day
Saved from the sea
The green sea
Jade waters rained down
And endless onslaught from the heavens
A wonderful gift turned tragic curse
The world we knew soaked
Precipitation, needed no participation
No tributaries only spectators
But with no effort to end this onslaught
The world we knew was helpless
Washed away far away
May it come back another day
Saved from the sea
The sea of green.
