Bird

The small bird sat upon the shoulder of the young lady like a pirate’s parrot. It was asleep, scarcely if at all aware of the proceedings the girl occupied her time with, the inventions not yet understood by their inventor. The dangers not yet concerning to the endangered. Life was that strange peace which exists on the edge of tragedy, the quiet before the Storm solidified into an entire way of being. Adina and her bird were happy.

Dead Sky

Red was born to a noble house of wind weilders, they commanded the weather and due to this their nation flourished with beautiful crops, famine was a legend of the time before the Sky family joined Harmony. His father was the Northern Wind at the time, a title given to the strongest wind weirder in the family. Expectations for Red were high everyone believed he would be the one to inherit his father’s title. Everyone except him, he knew from an early age he struggled to use magic, rather than waste his time looking for answers he from the age of six faked it. Reports of how he managed this vary with some claiming he used cursed and enchanted artifacts others claiming he bribed cousins, he himself once mentioned an elaborate pulley system with thin strings to give the illusion if him knocking things over with wind while forming out of the house. The truth was unknown to his father until Red was in his early twenties. At which point he was exiled from their home. He was told by his own father “You’re dead to me, and I wish you were dead to the world,” so Red obliged this request in his own way. From then on no one spoke of Red Sky, the disgraced nobleman but the legends of Dead Sky the cunning mercenary began. Those in need of a fighter or a guard of exceptional quality could hire the man who grew up facing Wizards with such fearlessness they thought him a master of an element from pure unflinching determination and ingenuity. When he was hired for a mission, things got done. I wasn’t always accomplished in an expected way, but it was accomplished. Dead Sky knew how to win in impossible situations and he didn’t know fear or honour, nothing held him back.

Serpentine Sands

Lotan sat upon his throne watching his creations struggle in veign before snapping his fingers causing them to burst into flames. “One day I’ll come for her,” he mused aloud while picking up his chalice filled with a black liquid. “Your majesty,” Nalgrow said while entering the royal chamber. “Why do you tread these ground, sand fiend?” Lotan questioned. “I’ve come to request passage to the Ether,”. Nalgrow stood at attention like a loyal soldier. “Your creative, I don’t need to grant you the ability to transit. Find your own way,”. Lotan the king of demons spoke to the demon lord. Nalgrow merely bowed and left to plot his next course of action and contact the small cult he was forming.

Always More

There’s always more to explore. More story to tell. Let’s begin this next one at the bottom of a well. Like a coin tossed aside, sacrificed for a chance of a hope. So she named herself Wish, she climbed the slick cold cobblestone soaked with the copper filled waters which were frequently pelted with tokens of desire. For years the coins bounced off her soft flesh, her suffering went unnoticed, but no more. She would be seen she would be heard she would be her. Wish was, and no one could take that from her.

Water Arrow: The Silenced

There was a queen fare and bright, hair of blue and eyes of grey. Queen Water Arrow was wise and ready to sacrifice for her Kingdom at a moment’s notice. Her whole life was was sacrifice. From the time her father raised her and her sister to marry noble families. Her sister Canary Arrow eventually married the head of the Blaze family, one of the most noble of houses in the kingdom. Water Arrow at the time hoped this meant she’d be free to live out her dreams of singing, changing hearts and minds with music. Then she was married to the prince Blue Storm. She grew to love him as she was given a level of freedom previously unimaginable in exchange for assistance with a few odd research projects. She was trained in history, lost languages, and all manner of magic all to make her more attractive to potential suitors. This knowledge was clearly what first attracted Blue, who often relied on her insight in his investigations of the old kings.

One fateful night her husband left to see his extended family atop Mount Grey he and his cousin Crow Storm were the only survivors. Neither said a word of what befell them that cruel night. In private Crow gave one warning to the queen. “Should tragedy strike the Blaze Family fear your king for he has lost himself. From then on the king demanded he be called Dark Storm, going so far as to alter leagal documents so all references to him were by his new name. Dark Storm trusted the queen with ruling the nation as he vanished frequently, months at a time between sightings. One day Water Arrow confronted her husband on his lack of commitment to the crown. She was cursed that night never to speak again or face tragedy. Whenever she attempted to voice her opinion explosions would happen all around her. Leaving her beautiful voice locked away forevermore. Water Arrow, the silent queen ruled until the age of Blaze.

Water Arrow: the songbird queen

With a voice that would make the angels jealous and a wit sharper than any blade the queen of Harmony led the nation in her husband’s stead. The public knew not why their king was seen less and less, why he changed his name or why his wife was the one making decisions for the nation’s future but she seemed to be leading them into an age of prosperity so very few really cared for the finer details. But among the few, the curious or paranoid, the investigators and gossiper alike, there was a rumour, one of curses and madness. Dark Storm the mad, his detractors called him. A king obsessed with the old world, obsessed with immortality, obsesssed with powers lost to time. Water Arrow never addressed claims of her husband conducting secret experiments or traveling out of the country to research dark magic. She just kept doing her best at leading, and singing when she was alone; Water Arrow loved to sing, which only makes what happened next all the more tragic.

Black Storm

The fourth age of chaos was months away from ending, peace would soon spread. A young wizard emerged from the caverns of the Gnoll mountains war was all around him violence wherever he went but he ignored it all. As he marched many think he made no stops till he reached his fated destination however he lingered in a small town facing tragedy. A mountain sprang to life the wizard slew it but the mountain’s eternal rest was now atop the peaceful town. For his sin of condemning them he named himself Black and devoured the remainder of his days to studying the light.

Black Storm constructed a palace of stained glass on another mountain, a sanctuary of light. The multicoloured lights cascade across the valley beneath the mountain, those in it were purified and at peace. A nation formed around this light and this peace, this promise of harmony. Black Storm never officially accepted the title of king though his first born son had no qualms with taking on the title of second king of Harmony, retroactively giving hugs father the title of first. The line of Storms ruled Harmony for generations letting magic, light, and the promise of Harmony be there guide.

Night wood

The following is taken from my notes on Moon Elves.

The nation of Moon Elves, north of Impero Del Sol (the nation of Sun Elves) and East of Harmony. The government there is known as the Coalizone. Their leaders are elected by the voting class which is exclusively the nobles. Their leader is referred to as a Lingao. The first Lingao was Rashanee Sycamore an ancestor of Kaalee. Their solders are just called moon knights but their most slight forces are known as Lunearans. Lunearans are experts in stealth and recon as the Coslizone has always had less military might than the surrounding nations. Their northern border is ill defined as the frozen north is neither contested or claimed land. The current Lingao is Chatur Oak.

Cobalt Cloud

Sailing the Sea of Dragons for ten years as captain of the plague would have been adventure enough for most but Cobalt wasn’t most. He longed for more eternally. The day came when he heard of his elder brother Dove Cloud’s research into necromancy the study of death and the undead. Something deep within the pirate changed that day. He sailed to the nearest port betrayed his crew for the reward money each member accrued over the years before selling his ship, his home and prized possession. This funded the heist, his brother never found out who stole his notes but he ignored it. Dove had long since given up on magic all together in an attempt to create machinery which would rival moderately skilled wizards bringing power to the people. He believed only a few prototypes were stollen and not notes from his old life.
